Terms of Service

By creating an account or using MILO, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

MILO is a work discovery platform that provides search, recommendations, library tracking, and affiliate commerce links. MILO does not host, stream, or distribute copyrighted creative content. Metadata (titles, descriptions, cover images, tags) is sourced from upstream providers (AniList, MangaDex, Kitsu, MangaUpdates, and others) under their respective terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these age requirements.

Certain content on MILO is classified as mature or explicit. You must be at least 18 years old to access content rated “Mature” or above. By changing your content rating to these levels, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that viewing such content is legal in your jurisdiction.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. You must provide a valid email address and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service beyond its intended use
• Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls
• Redistribute, mirror, or rehost data obtained from the Service
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Upload or submit content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to MILO's systems or other users' accounts
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

5. User-Generated Content

When you submit content to MILO (feedback, ratings, library data, personal notes), you retain ownership of your content. You grant MILO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and store your submitted content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license continues even if you delete your account, but only for content that has already been anonymized or aggregated. You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide.

By submitting feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions through the feedback form, you grant MILO the right to use, implement, and incorporate that feedback without obligation or compensation. Feedback submissions may be retained in anonymized form after account deletion for service improvement purposes.

MILO reserves the right to remove any user-submitted content that violates these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

All MILO branding, design, and original software are owned by MILO. Work titles, author names, and metadata displayed on MILO are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and discovery purposes under nominative fair use.

Cover images displayed on MILO are sourced from upstream metadata providers and are not stored on MILO's servers. Use of these images is subject to the upstream providers' terms.

7. Affiliate Commerce

MILO participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you purchase through affiliate links on MILO, MILO may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence search rankings, recommendations, or editorial content. See our How MILO Earns page for details.

As an Amazon Associate, MILO earns from qualifying purchases.

8. DMCA and Copyright

MILO respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe content on MILO infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA Policy for instructions on submitting a takedown notice.

MILO has adopted and reasonably implemented a policy for the termination of accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

MILO does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Metadata accuracy depends on upstream providers and is not guaranteed.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MILO and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. MILO may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.

Upon account deletion, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and DMCA Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MILO regarding your use of the Service.
